HOPE OF A DROP!

I live for the drops,
That you promise to drop,
Eyes closed, I’ll see them fall,
Stronger than falls, without a call.
I will take your tears, to trace you in heaven.
I will wash your feet, with the same in heaven.

Days are gone, my days are done.
I lay straight, packed within the walls.
Loses are past, my life's a triumph.
The race is over, done with the war,
And the winner lies above his ruins!
Done with all words, I hear no words.
Eyes are closed, but eyesight is left –
It was my wish, the ultimate one,
To spare my vision,
Until mud was 'pon them –
To see those drops, failing for me.

Looking for the drops, falling from eyes,
I see them flowing, heavy like a flood,
It was a promise – the single surefire one–
The promise of the scar, I carried on my belly.
The stream from her eyes, once watered my drought,
For love – the only love I believe is
My mother’s ceaseless love for me!

Curious to see my love, dipping her eyes,
I looked for you, raising my head.
They pulled me to my pillow, but
I was keen to raise it again, for
Hope was too strong in me, that
Led me to this bed, of ‘roses’, which
I never, in my life, lay on – ultimate paradox!
There you sit at the corner – in his arms,
Eyes on your watch, weary and goaded,
It was a gift, a precious one, which could tell
The time – everyone’s time, and a lover’s mood.
I dropped back to the bed – closed my eyes,
Thinking of my witless wish, which left the drops on my eyes!
