A Hyphen

Life is but a hyphen,
That separates two dates,
Man thinks of the years,
Which he never finds.

Life is but a few words,
To be written on a slab,
The font of this scrawl
Is what you learned to write.

Life is but a limestone,
Rough and hard its surface,
Man is but a sculptor, who
Learns this art by his life.

Art is bit tough to learn,
Time, though, much limited-
So start learning the art, before
You can say nothing further.
